- The importance of introducing music in early childhood
- Observation of a live class
- The importance of the adult presence and role modeling in early childhood
- Learn tested teaching techniques for presenting songs and chants
- Achieving basic music competence and its importance to music development
- Discover how different learning styles impact the music classroom
- Learn how to sustain the musical intelligence all children are born with
- Become familiar with the research theories supporting the program
- Walk away with classroom-tested music that children immediately respond to.
Day 2
This day focuses on the necessary skill set of the teacher; activity presentations throughout the day.
- Learn the importance of movement in the music classroom
- Go into more detail on successfully leading music activities using movement and musical props such as egg shakers, sticks, and scarves and more.
- Observation of a live class
- The use of play in the classroom
- Successful lesson planning techniques
- Learn what songs and chants to incorporate into your lesson plans
- Individual coaching
- Developmentally appropriate curriculum
- Overview of child development and how it applies to early childhood music classes
Day 3
Practice using your newly acquired skills.
- Participants take part in a live demonstration class of children and parents.
- Video feedback from live demonstration class
- Advanced work with movement
- Tonality and meter
- Observing and communicating the stages of music development
- Learn BabyRound™ class techniques
Business Session for Licensees
A two-hour evening business session will be included for all licensees. This session is intended to assist the new licensee in the business start-up procedures, answer questions, and alleviate the fears the owning your own business. |
