BabyRoundTM (Newborn - 8 Months)

A mommy and me style music class designed to meet the developmental needs of newborns and infants through interaction with a parent or caregiver.

Of course babies can't jump up and dance but there are wonderful and rewarding ways in which they will respond when their innate musical curiosity is stimulated. Your heart will swell as you watch your baby joyfully discover their new world through music. Mixed age classes are also appropriate for babies.

Mixed Ages (Newborn - 4)

A music and movement class for infants, toddlers and preschoolers that includes activities designed to promote musical learning across ages.

In this music class, infants, toddlers, and preschoolers along with their parents or caregivers join together as a musical community. Activities include playing rhythm instruments, having fun with finger plays, and singing and dancing to music of different meters and tonalities. A mixed-age setting allows children the freedom to develop basic skills like singing in tune and keeping an accurate beat at their own pace. Since there is no set age for these skills to be acquired, these classes provide a non-performance opportunity for musical exploration that the whole family can enjoy.

Preschooler Music Class (Ages 3 - 4 with Adult)

A mommy and me style class designed to promote basic music skills in preschool children through music and movement.

This class is designed for the older child who has already had a few semesters of a music class. Since 3 and 4 year olds are still developing their basic music skills, so class activities will be similar to those for mixed-ages described above. However, because older children are more willing to lead activities, volunteer suggestions, and create their own tonal and rhythm patterns, this class has a different dynamic than the mixed-age grouping. As in all KMR classes, a parent or special adult will accompany this child to class for interactive music play. Younger siblings are allowed in this class as registered students.

The Next StepTM (Ages 5-7 Without an Adult)

A music and movement class designed to expand basic music skill of school age children through song and play.

"The Next Step" is a 60-minute class for children ages 5-7 years without an adult in attendance. During these years it is crucial to encourage your child to continue playing with music. In class, musical concepts will be explored through song, dance, dramatic play, creative movement, improvisation, storybooks and assorted rhythm instruments. Also included is the introduction of the delightful barred Orff instruments. Because many children are not ready for the formal structure of a private lesson at this age, this group class is a great first step toward private study. However, it can also be a complement to already established lessons. Currently, this class is only being offered in Pennington and Doylestown. *Orff instruments include assorted glockenspiels, xylophones, and metallophones designed just for children.

Special Needs

Music instruction designed to promote music education for special needs children across ages.

This class is designed specifically for children with special needs. Each child is accompanied with an adult. Activities are similar to those in the mixed-age setting, but there is freedom for these children to feel comfortable exploring and expressing themselves musically in a relaxed setting.

Movin' Around (ages 4 1/2-6 Without an Adult)

A music and movement class that expands the basic music skills of preschool and school age children through music activities and group interaction.

Without grown-ups, this class provides an opportunity for 4 1/2 - 6 year olds to combine musical fun and fitness. The age group is often not ready for the structure of many organized activities offered. We will enjoy the release of the creative spirit while improvising through dance, exercise and instrument play. These classes are offered in Yardley only.
