Kids' MusicRound Celebrates 5th Year Anniversary

Kids' MusicRound celebrated its 5th Anniversary by sponsoring a free family concert on Sunday, May 16th. Families from New Jersey and Pennsylvania gathered at the Open Air Theatre located in the Washington Crossing State Park for an afternoon of song, dance, and fun. It is estimated that 1000 people were in attendance.

Co-founders of the Kids' MusicRound parent/child music and movement program, Barbara Lysenko of Pennington, NJ and Marilyn Schwartz of Yardley, PA opened the concert with the familiar "Hello and Welcome" song. They were joined by a live, 6-piece band which included the musicians the families hear on their CDs at home. Featured in the concert were the children and one of the professional artists, Keith Spencer, who also can be heard singing on the Kid's MusicRound program CDs. 13 faculty members joined forces from New Jersey and Pennsylvania to choreograph a 45-minute show full of energy, fun, and surprises for the whole audience.

Both Ms. Lysenko and Ms. Schwartz agree that "a family concert was the best way to celebrate our 5th anniversary milestone. It was like a big musical party."
